Helms Community Learning Center PTA

Description

We are an organization that helps to support and enrich tne students at Helms Community Learning Center. We also offer adult education such as GED, Spanish, Computer, ESL.

This organizations strives to provide the best education for students who could not otherwise afford it. Our students range in ages from 1-12 years as well as adults. 90% of our students elementary age, in grades PK-5, are on free or reduced lunches and over 60% are considered at risk. We seek out volunteers to help in the classrooms, help find funding through grants and community partnerships, beautification, etc. Our school has an award winning wetlands and has a blue heron that visits the wetlands on its migration tour. This school is a dual-language school which encourages literacy in both English and Spanish.
