PLAY SOCCER Nonprofit International (PSNI) promotes the health, social and economic well-being of underserved children, youth and their communities using recreational soccer in underserved communities as an inclusive vehicle to promote physical health and as a public health intervention that uses activity- based education to teach health, social and soccer skills for lifelong wellbeing and community development.

Description

PSNI promotes the health, social and economic well-being of underserved children, youth and their communities through the sport of soccer. It has pioneered a holistic sport for development model through its core program, Play for Fun, Learn for Life. Play for Fun, Learn for Life has been implemented widely in Africa, and more recently in the USA. The program uses the world’s most popular sport, soccer, because of its inclusive recreational value, the physical development benefits of playing the sport and because soccer provides an excellent cost-effective vehicle for activity-based education to further community health and development.
