Mission Statement

The overall goal of the City of Providence’s VetCorps Project is to build the capacity of the community to better support military service members and their families by increasing and advocating for better access to healthcare, employment, and housing services for veterans, military service members, and their families.

Description

The City of Providence's CADCA VetCorps Project is a full-time AmeriCorps volunteer position with a monthly living stipend. CADCA VetCorps supports its existing community coalition and develops new projects and capacity-building measures to help the host organization better serve members of the Veteran and Military Families community.

Our main areas of focus include health and fitness, substance abuse prevention, and healthy eating. Providence VetCorps addresses these issues by coordinating events and projects designed to assist and reach out to Veterans (particularly the homeless/formerly homeless and the disabled) in The City of Providence Community.
