Teaching various computer classes and workshops to seniors

Over 550 seniors have learned computer skills over the past 2 1/2 years. With up to 9 in a class, they learn from volunteer instructors and coaches about computer fundamentals, word processing, email, Internet, computer software, avoiding spam and viruses, and digital photography. Beginning classes run four weeks, 2 hours per class; more advanced classes are eight week long, 2 hours per class. There is a supervised open lab from 1-3 Monday thru Thursday, and a new series of Friday morning workshops on travel planning, stocks and bonds, shopping on ebay and keyboarding will be offered starting January, 2005.
