The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
Every single day, the American Red Cross helps people in emergencies. Whether its one displaced family, thousands of disaster victims, or providing care and comfort to an ill or injured service member or veteran or support to a military family member, our vital work is made possible by people like you. It is through the time and care of ordinary people that we can do extraordinary things.

god knows I tried to volunteer there. waited a month after signing up and called office on Delaware ave to see what was going on. said they were in middle of transitions with volunteer co-ordinators and they despartely need volunteers. got call back from volunteer co-ordinator but called me at home instead of work. got home, called her back. she said she would look into tabling events and never called back. month later, received email about buying items with red cross logo cheap since im a volunteer. responded I got the hint im not a volunteer and I wont buy anything of theirs. when someone is interested in volunteering and they are supposedly desparate, they should be calling back.
