Welcome to the American Red Cross! The worlds largest Volunteer Organization needs responders like YOU to help your neighbors! Disaster Action Teams (DAT) provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing. This position is responsible for the tasks involved in the Disaster Action Team program including: 1. Supporting the annual goals, objectives, and regional/chapter plan for DAT services through participation in meetings, projects, and local response activities. 2. Completes all required training and maintains current training standard as DAT program requirements change. 3. Attends regular team meetings and training as required by the region/territory. 4. Completes assigned projects and local response activities according to the needs of the DAT program. (Preparing vehicles, response materials, administrative support of the DAT program and other tasks assigned by the DAT Leader. Join us in this unique experience to help out members of our community! Our disaster action team volunteers provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing. These disaster action team volunteers meet with individuals and families who have experienced a house fire and provide resources to help the families start to recover. And with hurricane season just beginning, there may be opportunities to take training and participate in national relief efforts. This volunteer opportunity requires training and is mainly shift-based but there are day-time and night-time shifts as well as weekday and weekend availability. Join us in this unique experience to help out members of your community! (New volunteers are not being positioned to deploy out of state at this time. Join Us & Volunteer to Meet needs in your community! Disaster Health Services position supports the Regional Disaster Cycle Services department. Disaster Health Services Responders provide disaster health care by meeting the disaster related health needs of clients and providing support to other volunteers Participation in chapter preparedness activities Support to the DAT response, shelter operations, emergency aid stations, outreach activities, and casework and recovery planning during a disaster relief operation. Requirements: Willingness to comply with Red Cross COVID-19 policies for in-person volunteer activities. This position supports the Regional Disaster Cycle Services department. Active and unencumbered LOCAL licensure as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Practice Nurse, Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathy, Physician Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic , Retired RN/LPN/LVN if the state in which the license is granted allows for full scope of practice for the volunteer. Must meet training requirement for Disaster Health Services Service Associate New volunteers are not being positioned to deploy out of state at this time.
