Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
"To inform the public about genetically engineered foods, their potential risks to health, the environment, and the integrity of the food supply for future generations. To advocate for transparency in the food supply through clear and consice labeling of genetically modified organisms. We also support all local food sovereignty efforts."
LabelGMOS is the California grassroots organization formed in 2001 by new activist and grandmother, Pamm Larry. She literally drove around the state building the movement that eventually resulted putting Propostion 37 (The Label Genetically Engineered Food Act) on the ballot in 2012. Although we did not prevail at the ballot box, we sparked a movement across the US, resulting in over 80 legislative efforts in various states. Three states now have labeling laws.
We continue our outreach and educational efforts here in California. We also provide support for other GMO grassroots groups around the country and are involved in international efforts about GMO and Food Sovereignty issues.
Genetic engineering and control of our food supply is at the core of numerous international issues. It encompasses health, environmental, families, ethcial and faith based considerations, geopolitical, human rights, corporate control of the planet, farm rights, animal rights, individual rights, food system fairness and access issues.
It looks like a label, but it changes the world. Please join us!
