Our mission is to strengthen the lives of vulnerable children and young families, guiding them toward independence and responsibility.

FCS meets the needs of an at-risk, often impoverished, multi-ethnic population by providing:

High quality, subsidized child care and comprehensive parenting support to low-income families in San Francisco. Care is provided in two infant/toddler centers and in 18 family child care homes in the community;

Educational, vocational and parenting training for young mothers, fathers and expectant teens working to create healthy families and achieve self-sufficiency;and

Youth development and pregnancy prevention education for high school students at-risk for pregnancy, dropping out of school and dependence on the adult welfare system.
