Description
Volunteer mediators help people resolve consumer problems, workplace conflicts, landlord/tenant matters - even family wrangles. Office volunteers do telephone intake, scheduling and case management.
CRS provides confidential mediation of disputes, training in conflict resolution skills, and facilitation of public meetings. We receive referrals from the courts, public agencies, trade associations, schools, neighborhood groups and individuals who have used our services. Our volunteer mediators are teachers, attorneys, business owners, social workers, accountants, office workers and more - or people who have retired from such occupations. They resolved over 200 cases in 2004, and would like to be able to double that number during 2005. Experienced volunteer mediators have opportunities for advanced training in special education, domestic mediation or victim-offender mediation. They may also become trainers of new mediators.
