Use your experience and skills to teach new adult immigrants to read, write and speak English, prepare for the US citizenship interview, or use a computer!
Volunteer Classroom Assistants and Tutors work hands-on with adult immigrants and refugees in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis. Classroom Assistants help a teacher give individual attention to students in an English Language Learner (ELL) or citizenship class. One-to-one tutors meet with students who need extra help during Open Resource Time in our Resource Center. Teaching English or citizenship at CRAEC is a great way to share your language skills, guide new immigrants through a new culture, and learn about your neighbors from Somalia, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Mexico, and many other countries!
