Description

No matter what your interests, the amount of time you have, or where you live in the 13 counties of the Spokane Catholic Diocese, there are opportunities for you to serve people in need.

SpokaneWorks Volunteer Mentor Project
Offer support and mentoring to a family transitioning from welfare to work; tutoring in all subjects, providing transportation, budget assistance, teaching household management (training required).

Parish Social Ministry
AIDS Care Team Volunteers offer friendship, emotional and spiritual support to persons with HIV/AIDS in the Spokane area. (training provided).

CAPA Program

Mentor a single mother through the early pregnancy and parenting; training provided. Requires a one-year commitment for two hours a week; attendance at quarterly enrichment sessions.

Be a childbirth education partner or on-call labor coach.
Training provided.

Create newborn layettes to welcome babies (supplies provided)

Assist with special events such as the CAPA Christmas party, Mother's Day party

"Adopt a family" activities and provide child care/babysitting at evening events

Child Development Center

Rock babies and help toddlers

Help in the Child Care Center kitchen with cooking and shopping (food handler's card required)

Decorate Child Care Center bulletin board once a month
