Volunteers provide basic home maintenance for senior citizens who are unable to do the work themselves or pay someone to do the work. The main tasks are yard work, housecleaning, painting and repairs

Staff leads volunteers in the community of Northeast DC to provide basic home maintenance for senior citizens. The volunteers do yard work, light and heavy house cleaning, and small repairs. Volunteers who have a higher level of skill in home repair complete more challenging projects such as replacing windows and tiles. There is no charge to the senior for the services. Over 1000 volunteers a year serve over 100 senior citizens. Seniors are served no matter income level or religious affiliation.
