The Sexual Assault Services and Information (SASI) Program at SCAN, Inc. is based on the concept that every victim of sexual violence has the right to support and advocacy services. The SASI program is committed to ending sexual violence through education, prevention and advocacy.

Description

The Sexual Assault Services and Information (SASI) Program at SCAN, Inc. is looking for committed individuals to become advocates against sexual violence. As an advocate, you will have the opportunity to help by advocating and promoting prevention education and support against sexual violence. The SASI program provides 24 hour Crisis Intervention for victims of sexual assault, counseling, hospital accompaniment, as well as emotional support for survivors of sexual assault and sexual abuse.

The training was done by various entities to prepare for hospital accompaniment. I continue to volunteer with SASI and gain experience to provide hospital accompaniment/ emotional support. This organization continues to need more volunteers. I definitely recommend SASI for anyone in the Laredo Area who is committed to ending sexual violence through education, prevention and advocacy.
