Mission Statement

Our mission is to help students
who are reading below grade
level learn the pleasure of reading
and improve their reading skills
by instilling recreational reading
habits through donated classroom
lending libraries.

Description

  • BOOK ANGELS - a not for profit program - helps at-risk students improve their reading skills. We collect new and gently used children's books for classroom libraries in underserved schools.

  • We collect new and slightly used fun and general interest books for students in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade.

  • The books are distributed to public schools where too many of the students read below grade level and poverty levels are high.

  • The books we receive are used to establish special classroom libraries of hundreds of books, giving the students the opportunity to read fun, general interest books at home and in the classroom. Studies have shown that when kids read books they WANT to read, they will read more. And the more they read the better readers they will become. And the better readers they become - the better students they will be.
