Big Brothers Big Sisters matches children, ages 6-16, with caring adults in a one-to-one mentoring relationship. Adults help local youth realize thier potential. Adults get to feel like a kid again.

Adults from the community are matched with children in both Monroe and Wayne counties. Bigs and Littles meet on a weekly basis for a minimum of one year. By being a kid again, and doing activities that are fun for the child, as well as the adult, volunteers help a child find the way to a better future. An orientation and training are provided. After a volunteer is screened and approved, the child and the parent or guardian, are introduced to the volunteer. An assigned staff member offers support and guadance to the match.
