Our mission is to make college possible for underserved youth by matching students with donors, resources, colleges and professional networks.
ScholarMatch works high school and college students from the greater Bay Area in San Francisco, CA. The median family income is $24,000 per year and about 82% of our students are the first in their family to attend college. Thus, the vast majority of our students are both low-income and first-generation. We partner with the community to match students to resources, volunteers, and donors to make college possible.
Our drop-in center and resource services are open to the public. High school students, college students, and family members are able to speak with staff to receive counseling and material resources about financial aid, scholarships, college admissions, and college success. Crowdfunded scholarships are awarded to students who successfully complete the application process during their Junior year in high school.
Student scholars involved with our program receive support services including college and professional guidance, career mentoring and scholarships to help close their financial gap.
