All-Star Kids Tutoring, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is dedicated to breaking the cycle of illiteracy by providing one-on-one volunteer tutoring to elementary-school-age children that need help mastering basic reading skills. Founded in 1996, All-Star Kids Tutoring provides voluntary and free of charge after-school tutoring for 150 at-risk students using one-on-one literacy volunteers. The ASKT program works closely with Title I schools to identify at-risk 2nd-5th grade students who are behind their grade level in reading but may not qualify for school assistance. 80% of the students in ASKT are minority students and 70% are English Language Learners.
