Mission: Engage, educate and empower community members to be active, eat right, and maintain a healthy weight. Provide free, outdoor, Saturday morning, walking-as-exercise events for all ages. Walk events feature medical screenings, health talks, chats with doctors, and exercise incentives. Promote healthy lifestyle change and the benefits of using exercise-as-medicine including: elevate mood; regulate blood pressure and blood sugar; decrease risk for chronic conditions like heart disease, osteoporosis, obesity, cancer and diabetes. Inform and inspire the health-seeking community through social media channels.
Empower yourself with health knowledge! Join local community doctors at free, Saturday walks in the park. Spend time with the docs and other health professionals, get to know them, and ask health questions. Meet new friends who are interested in walking their way to a healthy lifestyle, right along with you.
