Description

The Embracing Project is a 501c3 nonprofit established and headquartered in Las Vegas since 2007. The organization motto is "Healing the World Together." Programs and services focus on self-development of youth that enhances young lives through workshops and experiences that encourage a spirit of global citizenship and incorporate mind, body, spirit, and practical/vocational opportunities. This work focuses on engagement and mentoring of even the most at-risk youth within the Nevada juvenile justice system. In all cases, we work to help at-risk youth experience healing, become productive community members, and develop attitudes and behaviors defined by civic responsibility and humanitarian service. We have three main initiatives: (1) "Compassionate Healing," a conflict/violence intervention and peace building journey that includes the FREE to Choose workshop/training; (2) "Serve with Us," through which at-risk youth participate in volunteer humanitarian travel (for instance, to work in orphanages and clinics in Liberia); and (3) "Center for Peace - Las Vegas," founded by The Embracing Project, where local nonprofits collaborate to provide wrap-around services for at-risk youth.
