To develop effective mechanism of community participation, whereby residents will have the capacity of being active participants in efforts to improve the quality of life in their own neighborhoods.
Description
HOPE is a community based organization devloping community based strategies to effect the improvement of the quality of life in the Hyde Park neighborhood, as well as other under-served communties in Los Angeles. HOPE's approach is to engage residents and increas their capacity to play more of an active part in the process. In a sese, HOPE employs a down-up approach to community development.
