Delivery of meals to homebound seniors

Meals on Wheels is a not for profit program administered by the Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island, Inc., dedicated to delivering nutritious meals to the high risk, frail, homebound elderly over 60. The program is designed to provide nutrition education, related social services, information and referrals to community based resources and services. Most meals are delivered by a network of volunteers shortly before or after 12 noon. The delivery consists of one hot and one cold meal. Meals are prepared in local hospitals and a private kitchen facility.
