Description
Raw Material is a specialist arts education organisation based in Brixton, south London. We have been providing services to our community for over 20 years, promoting opportunities for young people to learn and develop their skills.
We offer a range of creative arts and music programs, development in music, film, design, digital media, performance, projects including personal development and life skills. We support the career development of emerging young artists, songwriters, producers, DJ’s and MC’s, musicians, performers and digital media artists.
Our work is delivered across the following programmes
Raw Academy: Promoting access to learning, education and creative opportunities for children and young people aged 8-15.
Raw Live: Supporting new talent aged 16-24 in a professional working environment through creative projects, work-based learning and live events.
Raw Sounds: Providing music services in hospitals and the community for people aged 16-60 affected by mental health problems, in partnership with South London and Maudesley NHS Trust.
Raw Roads: Our touring arm promotes new music, artist development and performance training across the UK through participatory workshops and integrated live performances for ages 13-25.
Raw Futures: Providing pathways into employment, further training and volunteering for young people aged 16 and over, specifically focusing on new artists, arts leaders, educationalists and entrepreneurs.
International programme: Raw Material initiates international partnerships that aim to share best practice, resources and expertise with social justice outcomes, in particular across the African diaspora
