Mission Statement
The Assistance League of Capistrano Valley is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We put caring and commitment into action through philanthropic programs that support children in Capistrano Valley and Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. We have been serving the community for over 40 years. Member volunteers are dedicated to ongoing support and a long-term presence in the community. Our innovative philanthropic programs are primarily funded by our Bargain Box Thrift Store located in San Clemente. Our programs include clothing events, grants to middle schools, scholarships and literacy.
Description
Founded in 1977, our chapter's volunteers support the students in the elementary and middle schools within the Capistrano Unified School District in south Orange County. In a joint project with other local Assistance League chapters, we also help support the families on the Camp Pendleton Marine Base.
Our philanthropic organization provides many volunteer opportunities to serve the communities of Aliso Viejo, Capistrano Beach, Coto de Caza, Dana Point, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano.
Our main source of funding comes from the Bargain Box, our chapter's thrift store, which is run by our volunteer members. The generous donations brought in from our community are sold and the proceeds are used to help the local children and military families stationed at Camp Pendleton.
