Build one-on-one relationships with the elderly who live in care facilities. The volunteer adopts an older person or two in a nursing home and makes them part of their life and/or family.

Through Care Facility Outreach, we provide trained volunteers to build one-on-one relationships with the people who live in care facilities. Studies have shown that about one-half of all nursing home residents actually receive regular visits and that they are twice as likely to die in the same period as those who receive regular visitors. They die, not from loneliness, but from a broken heart. Encouragement is offered through one-on-one conversations, music, poetry, drama, pets or any creative avenue that is unique to the volunteer.
