Description

Provide patient, office, fundraising, and/or bereavement support to hospice patients and families.

BJC Hospice provides support and care for people in the final stage of a terminal illness. Our goal is to allow individuals to live as fully and comfortably as possible, usually in their own home. Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death. It affirms life and regards dying as a natural process. The quality of life, not the length of life, is emphasized.

Hospice patients can be adults or children, and volunteers provide indispensable support to patients and their families. Volunteers' help can take a number of forms, from supporting patients and their families so they can continue to live life to the fullest, to helping within a hospice office. How much time you volunteer is your choice, and you are guided each step of the way with ongoing training.
