Mission Statement

FarmFest is a fun, FREE, community-building event that fosters knowledge of organic agriculture and sustainable living through educational opportunities, local foods, lively entertainment and interactive family activities.

Description

In 2012, Pennsylvania Certified Organic (PCO) launched Pennsylvania Organic FarmFest as its annual two-day outreach event to bring together families, farmers and eaters to celebrate and learn about organic agriculture. As a nonprofit USDA-accredited organic certification agency, PCO envisions FarmFest as a platform for supporting certified and non-certified organic farming in Pennsylvania and beyond. Food producers come to FarmFest to learn, educate and network. Consumers come to eat good food and learn about sustainable food and farming. And everyone comes to have fun!

Free admission, a variety of vendors, contests, live music, organic and homemade food, a farm and craft market, kids’ activities, speakers and educational workshops attracted nearly 2,400 attendees last year. This year, we hope to bring out 3,500 festival goes to experience FarmFest. With the support of like-minded businesses, community partners and a dedicated volunteer base, FarmFest will continue to grow as a unique, interactive and festive event supporting sustainable food and farming in PA and beyond.
