Volunteers serve as advocates for residents of long-term care facilities.

Volunteers are appointed by the Iowa Department of Elder Affairs to visit residents of a specific long-term care facility on a regular basis. Resident Advocates support, defend and uphold the rights, dignity and quality of life of people who live in an institutionalized care facility.
