Volunteer Ombudsman are "Friendly Visitors and Volunteer Advocates whose care, concern, training, and professionalism assure dignity, respect, and quality of life for the elderly and disabled in Delaware nursing homes. Volunteers form wonderful friendships with those who really need them.

Friendly Visitors are trained in resident rights and advocacy. They are a voice for residents and their families who may have concerns they cannot deal with themselves. The most important role of a friendly visitor however is alleviating the loneliness and isolation of nursing home residents, simply by stopping by and visiting. Friendly Volunteer Ombudsman can often bring about a profound change in the lives of residents.
