In this our 88th year of service, our mission has not changed a great deal. We are still honoring God by serving others. We do this by educating those seeking knowledge, by feeding and clothing the elderly and impoverished, and by bringing the arts to the Appalachian area in which we live.
Our school staff brings quality education to those entering our doors seeking knowledge. They love and mentor our students giving them the courage to succeed.
The food ministry allows us to visit our elderly neighbors and do well-being checks. Sometimes we are the only visitors in the home on a regular basis and we are able to provide support to help these people stay in their homes.
The inception of the Arts Academy will allow the neediest child to have access to music, art, writing and gymnastic classes. No longer will children have to miss out on these activities because they do not have transportation to other towns!
Eastern Kentucky has changed since I was a child. Too many bright young people are afraid to follow their dreams. They have been told too often, you can't succeed anywhere else. This is not true. We must encourage. We must mentor. We must build leaders, our world is depending on it. Join me in giving these talented young people wings to fly!! Our world will thank you for it!!
