The mission of the YWCA is to help women and thier families to improve their lives through health, education, welfare, service and recreation. The YWCA aims to serve the greater community and to empower each woman and girl to fulfill her potential. Our guiding principle is to eliminate racism and sexism. The mission of the YWCA/Central CT Sexual Assault Crisis Service (SACS) is to end sexual violence, and in the meanwhile, to provide the highest quality services to those affected by sexual violence and to educate the community about sexual violence.

Description

The YWCA/Central CT SACS provides two types of services: counseling/advocacy and community education. Counseling/advocacy services are provided to survivors of any type of sexual violence and thier loved ones. We staff a 24-hour crisis hotline, provide crisis intervention, information, support, and advocacy.We also offer support groups. Community education programs are provided to community groups, youth groups, schools, and to professionals.
