Help mold future leaders of tomorrow, let's get them college ready...

Do you have 2 hours a week to help students reach their goals of going to a four-year college? Are you looking for a way to give back? Bret Harte Middle School is seeking tutors to work with a small group (4-7) of AVID students twice a week.

Our tutors will facilitate tutorial groups and guide students to answers to their questions. You will be a mentor to middle school students, help teach students to work collaboratively, empower students to come up with solutions to their own questions, and help develop writing skills through the use of good note taking. As a volunteer you will receive AVID tutorial training that you can use again and again! The classroom teacher and administrative staff at our campus will support tutors.

No previous experience necessary but a general knowledge of middle school subjects and algebra is required!
