An "Ombudsman" is a Swedish term for a person who acts as a citizen representative. Our primary goal is to promote the highest posible quality of life and care for elderly residents in nursing and residential care homes. The Ombudsman program provides these persons with direct acess to problem solving services through regular visits to assigned facilities. The average age-range of our clients is 75-90 years. Although some persons have family or concerned visitors, more than 50% have no one able or willing to help. There are more than 100 facilities in our county which approximately 4,200 elderly resident reside. With the support of volunteers, we hope to continue providing this critical service to the elderly in our county.
