Description

The Foster Grandparent Program serves children with special needs at 19 institutions and schools throughout Santa Clara County. Volunteers receive a non-taxable stipend and other benefits.

Foster Grandparents must be 60 years of age, in good health, meet a low income requirement, be able to work four hours a day, five days a week and have a desire to work with special needs children. For this they receive a small non-taxable stipend ($2.65/hour), a daily meal, generous vacation and sick leave, a transportation allowance, accident and liability insurance, an annual physical examination, orientation, monthly in-service training and personal growth and satisfaction.
