Description

Provide emotional support as a telephone counselor

The Friendship Line is 24-hour hotline run by the Center for Elderly Suicide Prevention, a program of the Institute on Aging. The FL volunteers provide emotional support and crisis intervention to seniors in the Bay Area, as well as throughout the state and nationwide via an 800 number. The FL also provides call-outs to lonely or isolated seniors, as well as a telephone check-in service.
