We recruit students into health careers, assist academic instituitions to find and retain the best healthcare students, and then provide programs that support the practicing healthcare professional.

Throughout Central Texas, Brazos AHEC recruits students into healthcare careers, works with schools that graduate healthcare professionals, and then works with practicing healthcare providers. Some of our many programs include health career fairs and camps, shadowing a health professional, mentoring, technology instruction/support, and continuing education. We focus our work in underserved areas, attempting to improve the health of citizens by increasing the size and quality of the health workforce. In addition, we develop and teach health education programs such as smoking prevention, geriatric sensitivity, CPR/first aid, children's dental health, women's health, and many others.
