Description

Take Pride in the Potomac!

This is a three hour, one day, trash cleanup throughout the Potomac River Watershed coordinated by the Alice Ferguson Foundation in partnership with the National Park Service, local governments, and hundreds of non-profits and citizen groups. This year's cleanup took place on April 5th and was the 15th annual cleanup. This year they targeted the removal of as many plastic bottles as possible. Last year 2,406 tires were collected, along with balls, refridgerators, stoves, auto parts, mattresses, furniture, bicycles and even a 1957 Chevy. Cleanup sites are in 9 counties in Virginia, 7 in Maryland, 3 in Pennsylvania and 2 in West Virginia.
