Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Since 1973 Kauai RSVP has improved lives and strengthened the community by meeting urgent local needs through the services of more than active 500 volunteers annually, all of whom are 55 or over.
With their lifetimes of experience, our volunteers fill the gaps in schools, hospitals, and county & state facilities. They staff fundraising events for numerous charities and provide education on nutrition, medicare and patient's rights. They help seniors live longer, happier lives, while improving their own health and outlook through volunteer service.
Last 2014, more than 31,600 hours were invested for the benefit of our community - that's more than half a million dollars in services that our Ohana would not have received if we weren't here.
For 41 years, Kauai RSVP's goal has been to support our community by meeting its most critical needs. Now we are expanding the scope of that goal to include "Days of Service" to implement meaningful strategies to enable elders and people with disabilities to live independent lives in their own homes for as long as possible.
Make a Difference in Your Community!
Kauai RSVP offers "one stop shopping" for all volunteers 55 and better who want to find challenging, rewarding and significant service opportunities in their local communities.
RSVP is part of the Senior Corps, a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, an independent federal agency created to connect Americans of all ages and backgrounds with opportunities to give back to their communities and their nation. RSVP members provide a wide variety of skills.
Members' interests are matched with community needs and volunteer opportunities. Specialized training is provided at many sites. Your skills, knowledge, and experience can make a real difference to individuals, nonprofits, faith-based, and other community organizations on Kauai.
