Description

Make a Difference in the Life of a Child

The Foster Grandparent Program of Putnam and St. Johns Counties offers seniors age 55 and older opportunities to serve as mentors, tutors, and loving caregivers for children and youth with special needs. If you are interested in serving as a Foster Grandparent, you must meet income eligibility guidelines and pass a criminal background screening.

Income eligible volunteers will receive a modest, tax-free stipend to offset the cost of volunteering. Foster Grandparents serve an average of 20 hours a week, usually Monday through Friday, providing one-on-one, tutoring and mentoring. Other benefits include reimbursement for transportation, some meals during service, an annual physical, and accident and liability insurance while on duty. Pre-Service and monthly training sessions provided.

Would you recommend Communities In Schools?

by Amber P. from Interlachen, FL (2015-06-29 05:48:11.0)
Volunteering with Communities in Schools of Northeast Florida gave me the skills to volunteer and work with neighboring volunteer sites and companies. Communities in Schools of Northeast Florida taught me: confidence, self-disciple, and to take pride in my accomplishments and work. I would recommend Communities in Schools of Northeast Florida to my friends and colleagues!
