Description

A SPECIAL CHILD IS WAITING FOR YOU! BECOME A VOLUNTEER GRANDPARENT TODAY!

Anne Arundel County Foster Grandparent Program [FGP] offers an opportunity for older men and women, aged 60 and over, to provide positive changes to special needs and exceptional needs children. The children they serve may have physical or developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, be pregnant or parenting teens, homeless, or they may be victims of neglect and abuse. No matter what their circumstance may be, all children are provided unconditional love and one-on-one supportive services by the Volunteer Grandparent assigned to them. There are currently 16 active volunteer stations, spanning the county from Annapolis to Baltimore. Volunteer Grandparents are assigned to one site and serve 20 hours a week, usually 4 hours a day Monday through Friday, serving children with one-on-one, direct service. If you are interested in serving as a Volunteer Grandparent, you must meet income eligibility guidelines, and you will receive a modest, tax-free stipend to offset the cost of volunteering. Other benefits include transportation support, meals during service, an annual physical, a membership smock and pin, paid vacation and sick days, and paid pre-service and monthly training.

Volunteer Grandparents have the wisdom and experience necessary make a difference. Become a Volunteer Grandparent TODAY, and make a difference in YOUR life!
