The mission of the Senior Corps Program is to provide meaningful retirement opportunities for persons over 55 years old who are income eligible and who are willing to serve a minimum of 15 hours per week. The Senior Companion or Foster Grandparent receives a small stipend and mileage reimbursement.
Help Adults in Need of Extra Assistance
Through the Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent Programs, people age 55 are provide with meaningful and worthwhile opportunities to serve in their communities.
Senior Companion provide assistance and friendship to homebound adults. Senior Companions serve frail older adults and their caregivers.
Foster Grandparents serve in local schools assisting with reading skills. Providing much needed assistance to children in their community.
If you are interested in being a Senior Companion or Foster Grandparent, you must meet income eligibility requirements. For your time you will about $200 per month to offset the cost of volunteering. Other benefits include reimbursement for transportation, some meals during service, and accident and liability insurance while on duty. Monthly training sessions provided.
