Toy Train Depot

Mission Statement

The mission of the Toy Train Depot is to
(a.) Preserve the history of railroading in the local area through restoration, acquisition,
display and interpretation of railroads of all scales and gauges including full scale train
items.
(b) Educate visitors of all ages about 1) railroad history in the local area and its unique
role in the founding of Alamogordo, 2) locomotion and its evolution and 3) railroad scale
modeling and associated electronics.
(c) Entertain visitors with the wonder of trains through 1) static and dynamic displays of
railroad artifacts and models of all scales and gauges, 2) Park Train Ride through
Alameda Park

3) gift shop offering railroad memorabilia, souvenirs and hobby items.
