Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
1) To facilitate the reunion of lost pets and their families
2) To reduce the number of homeless and free-roaming cats
Pet FBI is an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (c)3 organization. Helping reunite lost pets and their families since 1998.
Until recently, May of 2014, our database covered only Ohio. It has now been upgraded to serve the entire U.S. as well as Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
In the last few years with more widespread use of the Pet FBI database, about 1/3 of dogs and 1/4 of cats are reported as being reunited with their family. Probably the success rate is even greater since many people do not follow up after they have found their pet or traced the family of a stray.
Our proudest achievement is in reducing the number of homeless pets through our OUTREACH program. Pet FBI OUTREACH provides hands-on and financial assistance to disadvantaged people and caretakers of feral cat colonies to have their cats spayed or neutered.
We have implemented and / or subsidized spay/neuter surgeries for over 8,500 cats and dogs in central Ohio since 2003! We feel that the OUTREACH spay/neuter program complements our lost and found mission because if there were not so many unwanted pets in shelters, lost pets could be held longer and would be more readily recoverable.
