VISION: Design in Public believes in a future Seattle--recognized as a world design capital--where citizens, designers and leaders work together to create their shared best city.

MISSION: Design in Public celebrates all the ways that design makes life better for Seattle. We nurture relationships among designers, citizens, city leaders, and future-thinking business innovators. We catalyze change by supporting imagination, vision and participation in the creation of the place we all want to live.

Design in Public is a strategic initiative of AIA Seattle, a chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Design in Public was founded in 2011 to promote more public dialog about the role and impact of design on urban life.

Description

The Seattle Design Festival celebrates the ways design makes life better. Citizens, city leaders and experts all come together at workshops, tours, talks, films and gatherings to exchange ideas. Join us for two weeks of design discovery September 5 to 19, 2014.

This year, the Seattle Design Festival explores the ways design moves us. From place to place, frame to frame, present to future--design is the vehicle of innovation. Come experience Design in Motion!
