Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The Foster Grandparent Program was designed to provide opportunities for low-income people aged 60 and over to have an impact on critical community needs through their service. Foster Grandparents offer supportive, person-to-person service to children with special or exceptional needs in health, education, welfare, and related settings.
The Foster Grandparent Program focuses primarily on the mutually beneficial relationship between an older person and a child with special needs.
Goals of the Foster Grandparent Program:
- Have an impact on critical community needs through volunteer service.
- Enable low income persons aged 60 and over to remain physically and mentally active and to enhance their self-esteem through continued participation in community service.
- Enable children with either exceptional or special needs to achieve improved physical, mental, emotional and social development, assisting them to grow up with a positive self-image and a sense of personal competence.
