CLLARO founded in 1964, formerly known as LARASA - Latin American Research and Service Agency, empowers Latinos through leadership development, advocacy, and policy research to strengthen Colorado. Our vision for the future is a State of Colorado where Latinos achive their fullest potential.
Description
CLLARO prepares new civic leaders to seek equal opportunity and social justsice for all Coloradans. The CLLARO Capitol Fellows Program is in its 8th year of placing college-aged Latinos with state legislators for the full Colorado General Assembly. CLLARO provides a stipend and training to the Fellows. The stipend is critical to the ability of the students to participate in the program. Third-party evaluators find the Fellows gain knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to develop and promote public policies benefiting Colorado's Latino communities.
CLLARO develops grassroots community leaders to improve social determinants of health in Latino communities through the CLLARO Community Health Advocacy Program.
CLLARO mobilizes parents to seek equal educational oppportunity for Latino children and youth. Through this program, parents learn to facilitate and advocate for improved education outcomes for thie childre
