Description
The Marshall-Lyon County Library (MLCL) has a primary service area of 26,000 people and a yearly budget over $800,000, with additional support provided by the Friends of the Library and the Library Foundation. The collection is over 85,000 volumes with an annual circulation of around 200,000 items. The library also provides free internet/computer access, programing for all ages, free interlibrary loan, MNLink database access, and outreach delivery to the mobility-impaired and to childcare centers. Library Director Holly Martin Huffman is responsible to a 9-member governing board and oversees the main library as well as two branch libraries in Balaton and Cottonwood. On November 1, 2011, a new 22,600 square foot facility opened at 201 C Street (Marshall).
