The program pays the stipend, plus mileage reimbursements and often a meal at the site. We provide training and monthly workshops to keep you informed and in touch with other volunteers.

This sounds like the Foster Grandparent Program in Florida. I volunteered during the 2011-2012 school year. It is the best program for students and volunteers.
