Foster Grandparents give children a reason to smile.

The Salvation Army Foster Grandparent Program offers older adults, 60+, the opportunity to serve children with a variety of special needs. Foster Grandparents (FGVs) volunteer 20 hours a week at a site close to home. FGVs receive benefits to enable their participation in the program: a tax-free stipend, transportation reimbursement, meals, an annual physical, and accident and liability insurance. FGVs attend pre-service and monthly training sessions. To join the program, applicants must meet the following criteria: love being with children, have a sense of humor, be willing and able to volunteer 20 hours a week and meet income guidelines.
