Mission Statement

The Senior Companion Program (SCP) is authorized under the Corporation for National and Community Service. The program's dual purpose is to create part-time stipended volunteer community service opportunities for low-income persons aged 60 and over and to provide supportive person-to-person services to assist adults having exceptional needs, developmental disabilities, or other special needs for companionship.

Description

Become a Senior Companion your compassionate care of a frail older adult will make a positive difference in our community.

Senior Companions provide compassionate care of frail homebound older adults. You and those in need of assistance benefit from your service. You may assist with preparing a light meal, running errands or escort to doctor's appointments. But most of all you will develop lasting friendships. Senior Companion Estella Smith expresses the essence of this volunteer experience: "Being a Companion gave me something to look forward to, to go help someone who needed me."
