Mission Statement
The mission of MovingWithHOPE (Health Oriented Physical Education) is to provide survivors of brain and spinal injury and disease with year round access to exercise & recreational therapies and adaptive exercise equipment to help them remain independent in their community.
MovingWithHOPE is a 501(c)(3) charity in Shelton, CT, that specializes in securing scholarship funds for individuals with complicated brain and spinal injuries, allowing them to participate in year-round activity therapy programs. These programs include strength and conditioning to improve balance, gait and mobility; transfer skills; fall prevention training; emotional well-being; and reduction of secondary health risks such as obesity, diabetes, and heart and cardiovascular issues.

Description
In order to raise funds needed to keep our vision active MovingWithHOPE is planning the first Down By The River Festival and Bike For HOPE to be held on September 6, 2014.
The event starts with a family oriented bike ride of up to 50 miles covering the Greater Lower Naugatuck Valley with shorter rides available.
Following the BikeForHOPE is the Down By The River Music Festival beginning at 11am and ending at 7pm. There will be Bands, (featured performance by Shakedown) Food Vendors, Arts & Crafts Vendors, Kid's Zone and a World Championship Chili Cook-off.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the BikeForHOPE and the Down By the River Music Festival.
